 Robert and Samantha Jordan serve as founders and directors for Power Tools for At Risk Youth Inc. and are committed to the success of Louisiana’s workforce. As lifelong learners and educators, the Jordans recognize that advancing the lives of others begins with an education and strategy. Robert Jordan currently serves his community by directing the automotive program at a local community college, serving as a bus driver with Ouachita Parish for over 27 years, and as a small business owner and entrepreneur for 35 years. Educator and mental health specialist Samantha Jordan has achieved great success as an elementary teacher and is now an adult education instructor; assisting students receive their high school equivalency. As Louisiana natives and educators, the Jordans witnessed the economic implications of young adults being unequipped with the tools necessary for success. Through years of student advocacy, Robert and Samantha discovered an unfortunate pattern; individuals lacking self-esteem and motivation often needed positive mentors and a post-high school strategy. Robert and Samantha began serving as mentors to members of their community by aiding in the development of short and long-term career goals, networking, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Robert also developed a bridge program for graduates of his automotive program which expanded the graduate’s networking skills and connected them to local hiring officials. Since its enactment, Robert’s bridge program has provided job security to hundreds within his community and beyond. Realizing the power of relationship building through positive mentorships and education led to the birth of Power Tools for At Risk Youth. Power Tools for At Risk Youth, focuses on the singular dream of helping others identify their potential and providing the tools necessary for success.
